Founded in 2005 by sociologist Ms. Mridul Singh, Ek Koshish is a school for children with disabilities and different abilities. We operate under the Umrao Singh Educational Society (NGO).
The school was born from Ms. Singh’s experience as a special educator. She realized that while affluent families could access professional support, underprivileged families were often left behind. Ek Koshish was created to bridge this gap, ensuring that socio-economic status never stands in the way of quality education. Today, over 70% of our students receive education at a nominal fee, and the school covers more than 75% of its expenses through donations rather than student fees.
We believe every child can learn, grow, and contribute to society when given the right support, patience, and opportunities.
Ek Koshish Special School is an endeavor to benefit the differently able children with special requirements. We are a non-governmental organization and also a day school with day boarding facility, running by Umrao Singh Educational Society.
The major objective is to propound a quality life to the children with Autism, mental deceleration, Cerebral palsy, multiple handicaps, hearing impairment and other neurological conditions through our educational and rehabilitation services.
Our mission is to provide such children a great opportunity to enhance their present and future, make them competent to tackle every kind of situation and offer a better society where they’ll be accepted with their special abilities.
At Ek koshish Special School, we believe every child is unique and deserves the right guidance, patience, and love to grow. Our goal is not just education, but building confidence, independence, and a brighter future for every special child.
Our trained teachers and therapists understand the needs of differently-abled children and provide individual attention with compassion and patience.
Every child learns differently. We create customized Individual Education Plans based on each student’s ability, pace, and developmental needs.
